Water drainage concept

In developing the new TTK series, we have placed great value on compactness and flexibility for the widest variety of applications.

Because the high dehumidification performance of the TTK series dryers enables them to condense their own volu me in moisture in a relatively short time depending on the ambient conditions, our technicians were faced with three alternatives in designing and planning the water drainage for the larger models in the TTK series:

Alternative 1 –
consistent but unrealistic

water drainage concept To do justice to the high dehumidification performance, very large collec tion vessels would have had to be integrated, which would have doubled the size of the appliances in principle.

We considered that to be a very unprofessional solution because on one hand, mobility and ease of transport could no longer be ensured and, on the other hand, even these large containers would have to be emptied by hand from time to time.

Alternative 2 – cute but unprofessional

In order to be able to use the sales argument “integrated water container” in competition and still keep the unit dimensions as small as possible, the only solution in the designers’ opinion would be to install a container which would be too small for professional operation (e.g. 15 litres).

This would have rightfully resulted in a “thumbs down” from the professionals, because such a container would quickly fill up and turn off the appliance in no time via the auto matic power-off.

Alternative 3 – the Trotec solution

A lot of technology in a small space, ensuring high mobility in daily use – our designers chose this solution.

The fact is: Different areas of appli cation each require a different solution for water drainage.

Therefore our motto is: Technology inside, water drainage outside.

Water drainage and drying control options

According to the model and type of application, various possibilities are available for water drainage and drying control, e.g. via an external collection vessel with or without a pump or permanent drying by means of an automatic condensed water pump.

The possible applications in detail:

1. External collecting vesselExternal collecting vessel

The most widely-used technique is to place a sufficiently large water collecting vessel (90 litres) next to the building dryer which is then filled via the water drainage hose. You can demonstrate the efficiency of building drying to your customers most clearly with this method. “You can see the result.

2. External collecting vessel with immersion pump

For applications in environments that allow a water collecting vessel to be installed, but where the emptying intervals exceed the dehumidification performance, it is recommended to use a collecting vessel in combination with a conventional immersion pump, by means of which the water can be pumped into a drain.

3. Continuous drying

For all applications that usually require continuous operation, Trotec offers an optional automatic condensate pump for the TTK 200, TTK 400 and TTK 800.

Depending on the model, this powerful unit can pump over distances of up to 50 metres and height differences of up to 4 metres! Continuous water drainage is thus possible even over several floors! Naturally this solution can also be easily switched to non-continuous use with an external collecting vessel.

4. Hygrostat-controlled drying

In order to prevent ‘over-drying’ in critical areas, for example, where there is special furniture, antiques or certain types of wood, whose material structures could be damaged if the relative humidity is too low, all appliances from the TTK series can be supplied with an optional integrated hygrostat, enabling fine control of the degree of drying.

Alternatively, the HG 120 external room hygrostat can be used, which is connected between the dryer and the power supply. Since the HG 120 works with all TTK appliances, flexibility is guaranteed.

  • Your advantage: The TTK 200, TTK 400 and TTK 800 professional dryers are delivered ex-works with the appropriate upgrade options for condensate pump and hygrostat. In this way, not only new units, but also used dryers can be retrofitted later if required. We have consciously avoided standard installations in order to be able to offer you the optimum value for money for every application.
