Get the relative humidity right – and you’ll be alright too!
Humidity is invisible,
the ensuing damage is not…
It doesn’t matter where you are: at home, in the workplace or in the office – the right room climate decides on whether you feel cosy, comfortable and content or not.
And there’s an added benefit: if the occupants of a room or office perceive the indoor climate to be pleasant and comfortable to work in, this can contribute significantly to an increase in productivity while at the same time helping to lower sick rates.
There are two factors which are mainly responsible for this enhanced feeling of well-being: the room temperature and the relative humidity.
Most of us feel most comfortable when the indoor temperature is roughly between 20 and 22C and the relative humidity is somewhere between 50 and 60%. As soon as the temperature and the relative humidity deviate from these tight corridors, we tend to feel outside our comfort zone.
For some reasons, the real room climate in many buildings is often outside what we perceive to be our comfort zone. This is especially true during the warmer summer months.
That’s why it is especially important that you create your own special individual indoor climate – with one of the humidifiers in the Trotec S-series. Remember: the right relative humidity and the right room climate also help to protect your health and your valuable possessions.
Effective protection
against moisture and corrosion
When the water content in the ambient air exceeds critical relative humidity values, the ensuing damage can take on a variety of forms.
When there are differences in temperature between adjacent rooms, the humidity contained in the air invariably settles in the rooms with the lowest temperature.
The first most common perceptible warn-ing signs are damp clothing, a musty smell and blotchy walls or sprouting potatoes in cellars. Beyond that, mould starts to form when the relative humidity is in excess of 70 %.
Rust is even less demanding – the corrosion process already sets in when the relative humidity is 60 %.
Air that is too moist is evidently the cause of a variety of problems, yet costly heating is not the answer: the air is heated up, but it still retains its moisture. Continuous airing is simply not sufficient in this case either, be-cause by this means moisture cannot be drawn from the air on a sustained basis.
The compact dehumidifiers in the S-series offer a far better and cheaper solution: effective dehumidification and long-lasting dryness.
Archives and collections: dehumidifiers provide effective and reliable protection.
Dust and relative humidity: a dangerous blend when it comes to your valuable collections or private library. Why? Because dust provides an ideal breeding ground for mould spores and high levels of relative humidity provide just the right environmental settings.
Safeguard your possessions and prevent damage before it even starts: a combination comprising Trotec dehumidifiers and a regular professional cleaning program effectively protect your valuables against mould formation and preserve your collections and archives.
